History

One last hoorah, then a pharmacy

The Irish Circle first opened its doors at 101-19 Rockaway Beach Boulevard in 1940, and after one last hoorah on Sunday, May 11, 2014, it was gone by the next morning1. In early 2020 its building, which had stood on that corner for more than 125 years, was dismantled piece by piece1. A new apartment building went up, and in 2024 Beachside Pharmacy opened in it1. Seventy-four years of rounds, and now the corner fills prescriptions1.
