History
First Innisfree, then the Liffy II
Before it was the Liffy II, the tavern at 5009 Broadway, near 213th Street, was called Innisfree1. Its story begins in the early 1960s1. In 1968 a man named Cassidy passed the reins to Andy Carney1. In 1999 a Dubliner named Kirby Mannix bought it1.
The New Yorker wrote it up in 2018, and reviews dated August 2026 place it at the same address1, 2. Sixty-odd years and two names in, it's still pouring.
