History

From bankers' lounge to Sweet 16s

By 2010 the address belonged to Lexicon, an elegant lounge-club catering to lawyers, bankers and out-of-towners in for a little weekend revelry1. Plush raised banquettes surrounded a sunken cherry-wood dance floor1, and "the Donald," as Time Out put it, once partied there to celebrate signing a new face to his modeling agency1. Since September 2019 the space has been Space 54, an event venue for Sweet 16s, mitzvahs, birthdays and nightlife events2, with room for 265 guests in 4,500 square feet2.
