History

The street name stays on the door

Rockwell's is gone; since the end of 2018 the bar at 31 Rockwell Place has been The Rockwell Place, which takes the address even more literally^{1, 2}. Joel Tompkins and Toby Cecchini, owners of the award-winning Long Island Bar, opened it^{1, 2}. At the beginning of 2025 they handed it to a former employee, Alexander Kveton¹. An April 2026 Downtown Brooklyn bar guide still lists it².
