History
Texas Arizona, Hoboken, hold the sombreros
Brothers Jim and Brian McCue bought Texas Arizona in 20011. The first thing McCue did, he said, was get rid of the Western decor: the sombreros on the walls and the fake cactuses on the floor1.
They had owned it six or seven months when the September 11 attacks came1, and the bar became a command post1.
It's still at 76 River Street2. Twenty-five years after the sombreros went, it got another makeover: in June 2026 Truly Hard Seltzer, the official hard seltzer of U.S. Soccer, fully rebranded it as the Truly Believe Bar for the World Cup1, 3.
