History
A true dive for 119 years
After World War II, Liedy's Shore Inn became a magnet for retired sailors coming from the harbor1. It was decades old by then: a German immigrant founded it in 19051.
In 1992 the business passed from father to son when Larry took over1. In August 2011 Hurricane Irene damaged the building, which still needed repairs as of May 20122.
The bar kept at it until April 2024, closing after 119 years of operation1. One recent city guide was sorry to see it go, calling it "a true dive in the best possible sense"3.
