History
Five dollars forever, regardless of inflation
At Buddy's Wonder Bar, one drink will stay at $5 "forever, regardless of inflation," in honor of Tommy Hanrahan, according to Hanrahan Jr.1.
The building dates to 1920 and started out as retail space before becoming a bar around 19401. Tommy Hanrahan bought it when he was just 22, in the late 1960s, and owned it for 56 years1.
His 2025 obituary said Buddy's continues to serve the community he cherished1. Joe and his brother have taken over the business, which is still at 17 Harrison Avenue1, 2.
