Last call on Secaucus Road

Secaucus police reported nine separate arrests at AJ's on December 14, 2021, on charges ranging from promoting prostitution to distribution of cocaine, and three more in November 2022 for prostitution and drug offenses1. Another arrest followed in June 2024, after an undercover officer was offered sexual favors in exchange for money1.

AJ's closed in September 2024; one venue listing says it appears the state pulled its liquor license after the series of prostitution arrests2. One listing still marks it closed, under the name AJ's Nightclub & Sports Bar; another calls it temporarily closed2, 3. What has taken the space, if anything, we couldn't find out.
