History
Pews, pulpit and gargoyles, by way of Cork
The Wicked Monk came by its name honestly: founder Michael Dorgan furnished it with woodwork, stained glass, a pulpit, pews and gargoyles imported from a monastery in County Cork, Ireland1. In 2012 Dorgan and his new partners decided it was time for a change1. The Monk has since moved from Fifth Avenue between 84th and 85th streets to the former Ballybunions spot on Third Avenue between 95th and 96th1. It's still pouring there, at 9510 Third Avenue, until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays, and Tacos Express Mexican Grill now lists the old address, 8415 Fifth Avenue2, 3.
