When Eater stopped by in 2009, the Ready Penny had seen the street change a lot in its 40 years, though the area had always been a mix of different peoples1. Today it's an Irish dive at 37-07 73rd St., with a few tall booths, a pool table that gets plenty of action and a bumping TouchTunes machine2. The crowd spans generations, and the drinks are cheap2.
