Overview

Warm atmosphere, live jazz, and a garage door which swings open in the summer makes for an open air delight. Go for wine with friends and skip the overpriced entrees.

History

The original garage outlasted the sequel

Chef Utku Cinel opened Antique Garage in 2003 in a forgotten mechanic's garage, which he reimagined as a place for food, music and memory1. When we listed it, we liked the warm atmosphere, the live jazz and the garage door, which swung open in summer for an open-air delight.

In February 2017 Cinel opened a second Antique Garage at 313 Church Street, in the former Church Street Tavern2, 3. That one has since closed for good3, but the original, family owned by Utku and Evrim Cinel, is still on Mercer3.

It's at 41 Mercer Street1, opening at noon on weekdays1 and at 11am on weekends1.
