Sixty-five and a half, still easy to miss

Our old review warned that this sexy lounge was easy to miss, and the address still makes the point: by its own reckoning it's at 65 1/2 West 70th Street, at Columbus^{1, 2}. Vassilis Katehis opened Shalel more than two decades ago². In June 2026 The Infatuation found the bar "less tryst, more local hang"³.
