History

Six-dollar pints and rock and roll on the Bowery

Time Out described R Bar as a rock-and-roll makeover of the former Pioneer bar¹. The bar at 218 Bowery, just south of Prince, had closed for good by October 23, 2014². EV Grieve reported that the former R Bar would return as Rebelle². Our listing back then quoted six-dollar pints, a price that now reads like period detail.
