Overview

The most severe door in the city doesn't waste time trying to sum up your cool factor with a moments glance. Instead they require only that women be very young and very thin, and that men have exceptionally nice shoes, haircuts and cuff links. There are few venues short of a brothel where the exchange of wealth for youth feels more contrived.

History

A severe door that keeps getting remodeled

Back then we called Marquee's the most severe door in the city. The club behind it had opened in December 2003 on Manhattan's far west side1.

Nightclubs count their years in renovations. Marquee closed for a major one in 2012 and reopened in January 20132. The newly remodeled Marquee debuted in September 20253.

It is still at 289 10th Avenue at 27th Street, more than two decades after it opened1, 4.
